Blossom Montessori

About Blossom Montessori

Blossom Montessori is a preschool offering Montessori programs in which children are respected as individuals and are encouraged to develop their total personality at their own pace and within their own individual growth styles, laying the foundation for a lifetime of creative learning.

About Our Teachers

All Montessori teachers have been certified by NAMTA (North American Montessori Teachers Association). In addition to our teachers each classroom will have sufficient assistants for our preschool program. The staff is involved in continuing education programs through out the year.

The Environment

We have specially designed our classrooms for our children. A spacious, uncluttered, bright, airy and colorful classrooms await the children. It is a world scaled down to a child's size with low shelves that showcase a wealth of learning materials. The teacher moves through this child space, working with individual children or small groups, assisting each child according to need. The school day is spent as follows - a long block of time is used for individual or small group activities, periods of time are used in our indoor Kidnastics area where the children can use there muscles to climb, run, tumble, and play with the many toys available to them; a time for juice and snack; a time for large group activities where the children enjoy music, dancing, puppetry, singing and storytelling.

Blossom Montessori and Montessori Approach

The basic aim of the Montessori approach is to help children acquire the confidence and motivation they need to fulfill their own best potential. This is done by providing an environment which make activities available that support children's development, build on their interest and nurture their enthusiasm, and the emphasis on inner motivation, based on the child's natural curiosity and delight in discovery.

Blossom Montessori continues that passion today.

A Time To Learn

From birth to age six, a child's mind is like a sponge, soaking up impressions from the environment. If the environment is rich, so will the child's mind become rich. As Montessori teachers, we know children learn more by touching and exploring than just by listening. We prepare dynamic learning environments to encourage each child to reason, to collaborate, to navigate, and to understand. Our goal is the development of an autonomous individual, competent in all areas of life, not merely someone with the "right answers".
