Blossom Montessori

Staff Biography

Miss Josie

I have been a member of the community since I can remember. I have two adult children and two beautiful grandchildren; my grandchildren are growing up in the same community in which my children were raised, the same community in which my husband and I grew up.

I currently work two very rewarding jobs. I have worked at Independent Group Home Living (IGHL) for 12 years and have received many recommendations and awards for my outstanding performance. In 2007, I was IGHL’s Most Valued Employee in New York State. In 2006, my daughter and I decided to open Blossom Montessori as a preschool for ages two through five. It has been a long road getting where we are today but it has been so worth it. We look forward nearly full enrollment in Fall 2008.

Miss Kerri

In July 2004, my mother and I had a very life-transforming conversation. We have always discussed opening a childcare facility and Montessori school for children ages two through five. With much hard work and overcoming many obstacles, this plan became a reality in August 2006. After the birth of my last child in 2005, I new I would have to go back to work and I also knew that I wanted to be there for my children during the time they had off from school, so I decided to go back to school and earn the credentials I needed to open and run a Montessori Preschool. This was not easy, but I was always taught that anything worth have is not easy to get and with that, I continued my education. I am so glad I did because, with my mother by my side, I was able to make a difference in the community by offering a truly excellent and rewarding program catered to each individual child as well as small or large groups of children.

With our grand opening in September 2007, my and I have been blessed with encountering so many different children and their families. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to not only meet new people, but also in many cases to build friendships with them and maintain those relationships even after their children have graduated from Blossom Montessori. For that, we are truly thankful. With enrollment skyrocketing for Fall 2008, I look forward to the future with excitement and anticipation.
